Resumen del manual

Condensation If your lens is brought directly from a cold place to a warm place, condensation may appear on the lens. To avoid this, place the lens in a plastic bag or something similar. When the air temperature inside the bag reaches the surrounding temperature, take the lens out. Cleaning the lens • Do not touch the surface of the lens directly. • If the lens gets dirty, brush off dust with a lens blower and wipe with a soft, clean cloth (Cleaning Cloth KK-CA (optional) is recommended). • Do not use any organic solvent, such as thinner or benzine, to clean the lens or the camera cone. . Names of parts . Attaching/detaching the lens To attach the lens 1 Remove the front and rear lens caps and the camera body cap. 2 Align the orange index on the lens barrel with the orange index on the camera (mounting index), then insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise until it locks. • Do not press the lens release button on the camera when mounting the lens. • Do not mount the lens at an angle. To remove the lens While pressing and holding the lens release button on the camera, rotate the lens counterclockwise until it stops, then detach the lens. To attach the front lens cap Always attach the front lens cap with the lens hood attached. . Focusing AF (auto focus) When using AF, the camera focuses the lens automatically. When using cameras with a wide focus frame, use a central local focus frame or a spot focus frame. Other local focus frames cannot be used. • When the focusing ring is rotating, do not interfere with it. MF (manual focus) When focusing manually, set your camera to MF and rotate the focusing ring while looking through the viewfinder until the subject appears clearly. The focus signal in the viewfinder indicates the current condition of the focus. • The focusing ring can be rotated slightly past the infinity to provide accurate focusing under various operating temperatures. Do not rotate the focusing ring all the way to the end when focusing manually, even at infinity. Look through the viewfinder and set the focus precisely. To use a focus-hold button Press the focus-hold button in AF to cancel AF. The focus is fixed and you can release the shutter on the fixed focus. Release the focus-hold button while pressing the shutter button halfway to start AF again. • The function of the focus-hold button can be changed on cameras with custom function capability. Refer to the camera manuals for details. . Selecting shooting modes The aperture of the lens is fixed at f/8. Use the P, A or M mode (When using A or M mode, you can only set the aperture to f/8). • When using S mode, the exposure may not be correct, depending on the set shutter speed. 50100 50100 . Changing the plug-in filters The lens itself has no aperture adjustment. To adjust the amount of light, attach the supplied normal filter or ND4X filter. The plug-in filters are component parts of the optical system. Be sure to attach either the normal filter or the ND4X filter when taking pictures. Use the normal filter generally. When you shoot a bright subject or when you want to slow down the shutter speed, attach the ND4X filter (The amount of light is reduced by 2 stops, which is equivalent to f/16). • The depth-of field is not affected by attaching the ND4X filter. To change the plug-in filter 1 Push down the plug-in filter lock and turn it counterclockwise 90° until the white index is aligned with the plug-in filter, and then lift the plug-in filter up. 2 Align the plug-in filter lock index with the plug-in filter, face the side marked NORMAL or ND4X to the camera body, and then insert the plug-in filter into the lens barrel. 3 Push down the plug-in filter lock and turn it clockwise 90° to lock. • The plug-in filter lock index is perpendicular to the plug-in filter. About ND4X filter • An ND4X filter is provided attached inside the front lens cap. • You can carry the ND4X filter attached inside the front lens cap.
