Not only does it cut faster than competing blades. It lasts longer, too. Proof? We put our new blade to the test. Laboratory results showed that it cuts 20% faster than its nearest competitor. We didn’t stop there. In a controlled field test, 50 professional users were asked to compare the New Sandflex blade with three leading brands. The majority said they preferred the New Sandflex. They particularly liked its authoritative bite and smooth cutting performance: the ’’comfort factor.” How do you make the world’s best blade? We introduced Sandflex over 30 years ago as the world’s first bi-metal hacksaw blade. Since then, we’ve continuously developed the blade to cut faster and faster. From the outset, we knew this: If you want to make the fastest blade in the world, you have to rely on a whole set of interlinked technologies. And not just one single improvement. So we launched an investigation. Our technicians examined the teeth of typical hacksaw blades, which are usually milled. And found that milled teeth simply aren’t sharp enough. Instead, the teeth should be precision-ground to the finest tolerances. We went on to examine tooth geometry. Tests proved that teeth with a positive rake angle are more aggressive. They bite better. So we decided to use a steel alloy that makes tooth edges more resistant. They’ll last longer. The crowning result is the New Sandflex hacksaw blade. A bi-metal blade that cuts faster and smoother. Less strain for professional users. But why take our word for it? Give the New Sandflex a try. Discover why it’ll consolidate our position as the No. 1 global brand. The job gets done faster We asked 50 professional users to compare the New Sandflex blade with three other leading brands — two with ground teeth and the third with milled teeth. All the blades were repainted to look exactly the same. The pros then tried them out, always using the same hacksaw to cut through an ordinary steel pipe with a diameter of 20 mm. The results were revealing. The majority of the users preferred the New Sandflex to any of the others. They explained that Sandflex had the best bite and was ”easier to use.” Who wants an uncooperative blade that makes the job tougher? Cuts 20% faster Our R&D Center in Sweden used standard laboratory methodologies to determine why our new blade is the world’s sharpest. The four brands that competed in the field test were now subjected to a specially built test cutting machine with a feed force of 20 kg (200 N). Its stroke rate of 85 strokes per minute is equivalent to a manual cutting rate. The workpiece consisted of a ground steel bar SS2541 (AISI 4377) with a diameter of 20 mm. The New Sandflex cut 50 sections from the steel bar nearly 20% faster than its closest competitor. The New Sandflex blade also had the highest ”MRR” value, that measures the removal of material from the workpiece in mm3 per second. Lasts 35% longer In another laboratory test at the Center, the New Sandflex blade was shown to have 35% longer life compared its closest com-petitor. In other words, it withstood 35% more strokes before wearing down. In this new century of time-based competition, professional users want speed and durability. Why settle for less? That’s why they’ll turn to the New Sandflex bi-metal blade. It cuts faster, longer, too. Cuts faster Lasts longer The New Sandflex bi-metal hacksaw blade BANCO MM-2140-UK NOV 2000 newton...
