Resumen del manual

The attack volume adjusts picking forth widely and provides any drive-sound. As having the tone control function, the CS-3 allows wider variation of sound creation. Moreover, featuring the wide range of maximum input level and compression range, it can be used for any electronic musical instrument. In addition, the CS-3 can be used as an ordinay limiter by turning down the sustain volume. Rotating it clockwise increases the volume and counterclockwise decreases. Therefore, this knob can be effectively used to adjust volume balance of the effect and direct sounds. Tone Control Rotating this knob clockwise emphasizes the higher frequency making sharper sounds. Counterclockwise rotation cuts the higher frequency making softer sounds. Attack Knob This adjusts the intensity of the attack in the picking. At its clockwise position, the attack sound is retained in each note even in fast picking, creating drive sound. Sustain Knob This knob adjusts the sustain time. Rotating this knob clockwise increases the sustain time. By rotating it counterclockwise, the output level is limited, therefore the CS-3 works as a limiter. Check Indicator This serves as an effect ON/OFF indicator as well as battery check. This lights up when the effect is turned on and goes out when off. Pedal Switch Push this pedal to turn the effect on (LED on), and push it again to turn the effect off (LED off). * The FET Switching system amazingly reduces click noise, so that studio recording and live performance will now be even more successfully achieved. AC Adaptor Jack Connect an AC adaptor (BOSS ACA series) to this jack for AC operation. Input Jack This is to connect an electric guitar, or other electronic musical instrument. Plugging the power cord into this jack turns the power to the CS-3 on. So please disconnect the cord when the unit is not to be used. Output Jack Connect this jack to the external device such as amplifier. Thumb Screw Loosen this thumb screw to open the pedal cover for battery replacement. Please do not remove the screw from the pedal cover, or you may lose it IMPORTANT • When operating the CS-3 from the AC line, use the BOSS AC Adaptor (ACA series) • Avoid using the CS-3 in extreme heat, humidity or where it may be affected by dust. OPERATION 1 After making all the connections, set the panel as shown left. CHECK O Press the Pedal Switch. If the indicator lights up, the effect is on, and if not, the effect is off. This indicator also serves as battery check. If it becomes dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. SUSTAIN SUSTAIN Rotate the Sustain Knob to an appropriate position. * As you turn the Sustain Knob clockwise, you may hear noise or howling. If so, rotate it slightly counterclickwise. Using the CS-3 as a Compressor Using the CS-3 as a Limiter Press the Pedal Switch to turn the effect on (LED on), and adjust the volume of the effect sound using the Level Knob. Adjust the intensity of the attack with the Attack Knob Control the lone of the sound with the Tone Control Knob. CAUTIONS FOR REPLACING AND HANDLING BATTERY CAUTIONS AC Adaptor (Option) REPLACING BATTERY USE ONE 9-VOLT BATTERY. ©Loosen the screw to open the pedal and take out the battery from the battery housing. ©Replace the battery with a new one. ©Set the coil spring onto the spring base on the back of the pedal and shut the pedal. Finally, insert the screw into the pedal guide and tighten it. At this time, be careful not to catch the battery strap in the cover or coil spring. • When the CS-3 is not to be used for a long Please be sure to use the Boss ACA series period, remove the battery to prevent the adaptor. Using any other type of adaptor trouble caused by the battery leakage will cause trouble • If the battery voltage drops, effect becomes inferior or no sound is produced. To prevent that, replace the battery. • Be sure to keep the battery securely connected even while using the AC Adaptor, then the CS-3 will continued to operate even if the AC Adaptor cord comes out during performance.
