3. Special Features 157 Fax features Sending a fax in the computer This feature may not be available depending on model or optional goods (see "Features by models" on page 7). You can send a fax from your computer without going to the machine. To send a fax from your computer, the Samsung Network PC Fax program must be installed. This program will be installed when you installed the printer driver. 1 Open the document to be sent. 2 Select Print from the File menu. The Print window will be displayed. It may look slightly different depending on your application. 3 Select Samsung Network PC Fax from the Print window 4 Click Print or OK. Enter the recipients’ numbers and select the option 5 Select the Help menu or click the button from the window and click on any option you want to know about. Click Send. 6 Delaying a fax transmission You can set your machine to send a fax at a later time when you will not be present. You cannot send a color fax using this feature. 3. Special Features 158 Fax features Load the documents face down into the document feeder. 1 Press (fax) on the control panel. 2 Adjust the resolution and the darkness to suit your fax needs. 3 Press (Menu) > Fax Feature > Delay Send on the control panel. 4 You also can use Delay Send button directly on the control panel. Enter the number of the receiving fax machine and press OK. 5 The display asks you to enter another fax number to send the document. 6 To enter more fax numbers, press OK when Yes highlights and repeat 7 steps 5. • You can add up to 10 destinations. • Once you entered a group dial number, you cannot enter another group dial numbers anymore. Enter the job name and the time. 8 If you set a time earlier than the current time, the fax will be sent at that time on the following day. The original is scanned into memory before transmission. 9 The display reminds you that you are in ready mode and that a delayed fax is set. The machine returns to ready mode. You can check the list of delayed fax jobs. Press (Menu) > System Setup > Report > Schedule Jobs on the control panel. Adding documents to a reserved fax 1 Load the documents face down into the document feeder. 2 Press (fax) > (Menu) > Fax Feature > Add Page on the control panel. 3 Select the fax job and press OK. 4 Press (Stop/Clear) to return to ready mode. Canceling a reserved fax job Press (fax)> (Menu > Fax Feature > Cancel Job on the control 1 panel. Select the fax job you want and press OK. 2 3. Press (Stop/Clear) to return to ready mode. 4 Sending a priority fax This function is used when a high priority fax need to be sent ahead of reserved operations. The original is scanned into memory and immediately transmitted when the current operation is finished. Load the documents face down into the document feeder. 1 Press (fax) > (Menu) > Fax Feature > Priority Send on the 2 control panel. Enter the destination fax number and press OK. 3 Enter the job name and press OK. 4 Press (Stop/Clear)to return to ready mode. 5 30 Forwarding a sent fax to another destination You can set the machine to forward the received or sent fax to other destination by a fax or PC. If you are out of office but have to receive the fax, this feature may be useful. Though you sent or received a color fax, the data is forwarded in grayscale. Load the documents face down into the document feeder. 1 Press (fax) > (Menu) > Fax Feature > Forward > Fax > Send 2 Forward > On on the control panel. Enter the destination fax number press OK. 3 Press (Stop/Clear)to return to ready mode. 4 Subsequent sent faxes will be forwarded to the specified fax machine. Forwarding a received fax Though you sent or received a color fax, the data is forwarded in grayscale. 3. Select Forward or Forward&Print and press OK. 3 To set the machine to print out a fax when fax forwarding has been completed, select Forward&Print. Enter the destination fax number or PC and press OK. 4 Enter the time to start and stop forwarding and press OK. 5 Press (Stop/Clear) to return to ready mode. 6 Subsequent received faxes will be forwarded to the specified fax machine. 32 Receiving a fax in the computer • Samsung Easy Printer Manager is Available for Windows and Macintosh OS users only. • To use this feature, set the option on the control panel: Press (fax) > (Menu) > Fax Feature > Forward > PC > On on the control panel.
