Resumen del manual

• Do not expose the cartridge to unnecessary vibrations or shock. • Never manually rotate the drum, especially in the reverse direction; this can cause internal damage and toner spillage. Use of non-Samsung and refilled toner cartridge Samsung Electronics does not recommend or approve the use of non- Samsung brand toner cartridges in your printer including generic, store brand, refilled, or remanufactured toner cartridges. • Samsung’s printer warranty does not cover damage to the machine caused by the use of a refilled, remanufactured, or non- Samsung brand toner cartridge. Estimated cartridge life Estimated cartridge life (the life of the toner cartridge yield) depends on the amount of toner that print jobs require. The actual print-out number may vary depending on the print density of the pages you print on, operating environment, printing interval, media type, and/or media size. For example, if you print a lot of graphics, the consumption of the toner is high and you may need to change the cartridge more often. Redistributing toner Small amount of toner is left in the cartridge. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner. 1. Open the front cover. For ML-2240 Series, if you have installed the dust cover, remove thedust cover before opening the front cover. 2. Pull the toner cartridge out and remove it from the machine. • Avoid reaching too far into the machine. The fusing area may be hot. • To prevent damage to the toner cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than few minutes. • Do not touch the green surface (or sky blue), the OPC drum, with your hands or any other material. Use the handle on the cartidge to avoid touching this area. • Be careful not to expose the green surface (or sky blue), the OPC drum, into light. This will cause damage to the OPC drum. Cover the toner cartridge’s OPC drum with paper to avoid damaging it from the light. • Do not turn the toner cartridge over. Because the machine is very light, it may be moved when you use it; for example, when opening/closing the tray or installing/removing thetoner cartridge. Be careful not to move the machine. Maintenance_27 28 _Maintenance 3. Gently shake the toner cartridge from side to side five or six times to redistribute the toner. 4. Reinsert the toner cartridge into the machine. Ensure that the toner cartridge snaps into place. 5. Close the front cover. Make sure that the cover is securely closed. If it is not firmly closed, printing errors may occur when you print. REPLACING THE TONER CARTRIDGE When the toner LED lights red, a toner cartridge has reached its estimated cartridge life. Your machine stops printing. Also, the Smart Panel program window appears on the computer telling you to replace the cartridge. At this stage, the toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Check the type of toner cartridge for your machine. (See "Supply" on page 39.) 1. Turn the machine off, then wait a few minutes for the machine to cool. 2. Grasp the front cover and pull it toward you to open. 3. Remove the toner cartridge from its bag and remove the paper protecting the cartridge by pulling the packing tape. If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash it in cold water. Hot water sets toner into fabric.
