Resumen del manual
the SCSI miniport driver to also be installed. Boot configurations will
require the STOR miniport and will not support the concurrent use of
NDIS configuration.
The following recommended procedure should be performed on an
installation:
•
Removal of previous configurations. Uninstall the Microsoft iSCSI
Initiator. Uninstall any previous older QLogic drivers and SANsurfer
software. Uninstall the LeftHand MPIO DSM driver.
•
Install the latest and appropriate QLogic driver, QLogic SANsurfer
software, and Microsoft iSCSI Initiator. When installing the Microsoft
iSCSI Initiator, select Service Only. Do not install the Microsoft generic
MPIO DSM. The Microsoft iSCSI software Initiator option is not required.
By selecting the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service, VSS based snapshots
may be supported with an appropriate VSS Requestor (Backup
Application) and the LeftHand VSS Hardware Provider from the
LeftHand Windows Solutions Pack.
•
Power down and physically install the QLogic iSCSI HBA in the
appropriate expansion slot.
•
Ensure that there is no Yellow ! or Red X in Device Manager.
•
Open up the Microsoft iSCSI applet and verify the Initiator Node Name.
Note that this is different than the IQN node name configured in the
QLogic firmware. It is recommended that SANsurfer (GUI or CLI) be used
to configure the IQN node name the same as the setting in the Microsoft
iSCSI applet. If these are configured differently, once the Microsoft iSCSI
Initiator driver loads, the Microsoft IQN will overwrite the current QLogic
IQN. This could affect volume access if both IQNs are not defined as an
Authentication Group with Volume List access defined. SANsurfer is used
to force this setting to before the Microsoft Initiator loads and must be
saved in the card.
•
Persistently map targets in QLogic¡¦s SANsurfer (GUI or CLI) and logon
to those targets. In SANsurfer, this is the bind flag option. Note that they
will now also show up in the Microsoft iSCSI applet. Although mapping of
targets may also be performed in the Microsoft iSCSI applet, different
configuration results may exist depending upon the driver, NDIS driver,
and Microsoft iSCSI software Initiator being present in the system.
Therefore, by configuring iSCSI targets in SANsurfer only, configuration
mistakes may be best avoided.
