To enable or disable the phone lock, perform the following steps: 1. Open the General settings menu using the steps in “Accessing the General settings menu” (page 156). 2. Press the Up or Down key to highlight the Security option. 3. Press the Select soft key. 4. Press the Up or Down key to highlight the Phone lock option. 5. Press the Select soft key. 6. Use the Dialpad to enter your PIN code. 7. Press the OK soft key. 8. Press the Up or Down key to choose the required option. 9. Press the Select soft key. Automatic dialpad lock The Automatic dialpad lock feature disables key input if you do not press any keys for a configurable period of time. To configure the number of seconds the system waits before enabling dialpad lock, change the “second value” timer in the Power save menu; if you configure this value to 0, the system waits 30 seconds before activating dialpad lock. For more information about configuring Power save, see “Configuring Power save” (page 195). To enable Automatic dialpad lock, perform the following steps: 1. Open the General settings menu using the steps in “Accessing the General settings menu” (page 156). 2. Press the Up or Down key to highlight the Security option. Security 3. Attention: When you receive a call with key lock active, the dialpad lock temporarily suspends and you can use all keys. The key lock reactivates when you terminate the call. Changing the PIN code Use the information in this section to change the PIN code on the handset. To change the PIN code, perform the following steps: 1. Open the General settings menu using the steps in “Accessing the General settings menu” (page 156). 2. Press the Up or Down key to highlight the Security option. Security 3.
