Your Dyson vacuum cleaner will be covered for parts and labour for 2 years from the date of purchase, subject to the terms of the guarantee. If you have a query about your Dyson vacuum cleaner, call the Dyson Customer Care Helpline quoting the serial number and details of where/when you bought the vacuum cleaner. The serial number can be found on your rating plate which is behind the clear bin. Most queries can be solved over the phone by one of our trained Dyson Customer Care Helpline staff. IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY: This vacuum cleaner is for domestic use only. Do not use o 1. utdoors or on wet surfaces. 2. Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands. 3. CAUTION: This vacuum cleaner’s hose contains electrical connections: Do not use to suck up water or other liquids. Do not immerse in water for cleaning. The hose should be checked regularly and must not be used if damaged. 4. Do not allow the vacuum cleaner to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. 5. Do not use with damaged cable or plug. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by Dyson’s authorised service centres in order to avoid a hazard. 6. If the vacuum cleaner is not functioning properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or immersed in liquid, do not use, contact the Dyson Customer Care Helpline. 7. Do not use the vacuum cleaner if any parts appear to be faulty, missing or damaged. 8. Ensure all parts including the clear bin are securely attached before using or carrying the vacuum cleaner. 9. This vacuum cleaner is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the vacuum cleaner by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the vacuum cleaner. 10. Do not leave the vacuum cleaner when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use, and before performing user maintenance, connecting or disconnecting the hose or changing accessories. 11. Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Do not use or store this vacuum cleaner below 0°C (32°F). Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is at room temperature before operating. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use with the cable stored safely, to prevent tripping hazards. 12. If the vacuum cleaner overheats it will cut-out. It must be switched off, unplugged and allowed to cool down before attempting to check filters or for blockages. Ensure any blockage is cleared before restarting the vacuum cleaner. 13. Turn off all controls before unplugging. 14. Do not unplug by pulling on cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. 15. Do not pull or carry by cable, use cable as a handle, close a door on cable, or pull cable around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum cleaner over cable. Keep cable away from heated surfaces. 16. The use of an extension cable is not recommended. 17. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts, such as the brush bar. 18. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow. Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before attempting to remove any blockage. 19. Take extra care when vacuuming on stairs. Do not work with the vacuum cleaner above you on the stairs. 20. Keep the vacuum cleaner on the floor. Do not put the vacuum cleaner on chairs, tables etc. 21. Do not shake the vacuum cleaner or press the cyclone release button while carrying the vacuum cleaner, or it could fall and cause injury. 22. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as petrol, or use in areas where they may be present. 23. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. 24. Check to ensure your electricity supply matches that shown on the rating plate. The vacuum cleaner must only be used as rated. 25. Use only as described in this manual. Use only Dyson recommended attachments. 26. Do not use without the clear bin and filters in place. 27. Do not lubricate any parts, or carry out any maintenance or repair work other than that shown in this manual, or as advised by the Dyson Customer Care Helpline.
