RP5440 u s e r m a n u a l Setting Wake Time This unit allows two wake times to be set. 1. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/ on the top of the unit to WAKE 1 or WAKE 2 position. 2. Press REV or FWD to set the respective wake time. The time decrements or increments will follow by a faster rate when you press and hold the buttons. Selecting Wake Source You may be woken up by radio or alarm. 1. Select an AM or FM station (see directions on “Radio”). 2. Set a wake time (see above directions). 3. Press WAKE - OFF 1 or 2 repeatedly on the top of the unit to select a waking mode. Corresponding icon lights on the front of the unit. - Wake 1 by alarm - Wake 1 by radio - Wake 2 by alarm - Wake 2 by radio Checking Wake Time Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/ on the top of the unit to WAKE 1 or WAKE 2 position to check the currently set wake time. Power Failure Indicator When AC power is interrupted (disconnected) for a short period of time, both time and alarm settings will change (unless batteries are installed). After AC power is restored (reconnected), the Digital Display will blink to indicate that power was interrupted and you should readjust the time and alarm settings. Note: Power is fed to the unit even when it is not functioning. To cut the power supply off, the power cable must be unplugged. Top View OFF - turns the unit off. FWD - sets time (increases value). SNOOZE/PROJECTION - enters snooze mode where the alarm will quiet but sound again once the snooze period is over; turns on the projector for about 10 seconds when it is switched off. REV - sets time (decreases value). RADIO/AUX - turns unit on; selects radio or AUX mode. WAKE - OFF - activates, deactivates and sets wake function. /WAKE1/WAKE2/ - slide switch to lock setting and to set Wake 1, Wake 2 and clock time. NAP - activates NAP function. SLEEP - activates sleep function. Back View AUTO DIMMER - turns auto dimmer function on or off. TIME ZONE - slide to select time zone corresponds to your location. DST - turns daylight saving function on or off. AM/FM - selects between AM and FM bands. PROJECTOR ON/OFF - turns projector on or off. ANGLE - rotates the projected image. Side View -VOLUME+ - adjusts volume. TUNING - selects radio frequencies. AUX IN - AUX input jack. ID - performs temperature information synchronization with the digital thermometer. oC/oF - selects temperature scale. Before You Plug for Power 1. Setting Time Zone You may slide the TIME ZONE selector at the back of the unit to Eastern (EST), Central (CST), Mountain (MST) or Pacific (PST) (refer to the maps on the right). 2. Daylight Saving You can slide the DST switch at the back of the unit to turn on/ off in areas observing/ not observing such time change. WARNING: Please avoid playing with these buttons after entering the Clock/Alarm set mode. Auto Clock Set You do not have to set the clock time as a built-in automatic time set system is equipped in this clock powered by 3V (2 X AA batteries, included and installed). All you have to do is to plug this clock for power and current time will be shown automatically. However, the batteries can also be exhausted and we recommend that you replace the batteries every 2-3 years. In case the memory holding batteries are accidentally removed, you may set the clock manually with following procedures: Setting Clock 1. Slide the switch /WAKE1/WAKE2/ on the top of the unit to clock position. Auto Brightness Control Clock time and radio frequency are display on the display area at the front of the unit. The display brightness can be adjusted automatically by analyzing the intensity of surrounding light sources. Selecting Radio Mode Press RADIO/AUX to switch on radio. Switching Band Slide the AM/FM switch on the back of the unit to select AM or FM band. Tuning the Radio Turn the TUNING knob on the right of the unit to adjust radio frequency. Radio frequency shows on the display. FM Antenna The power cord acts as your FM antenna. The power cord picks moderate to strong stations and eliminates the need for an external antenna in most strong signal areas. Be sure the power cord is stretched out to its full length.
