Follow the steps below to store the program. 1 Press the [MASTER] button to enter the Master mode. 2 Select a Master to be edited. The Master Play display appears. 3 Press the [EDIT] button. The Master Edit Select display appears. 4 Select “Common” then press the [ENTER] button. The Common Edit display appears. 5 Select “Memory” by using the cursor buttons then press the [ENTER] button. The Common Memory display appears. 6 At the “Mode” parameter, select “voice,” “performance” or “multi.” 7 Select the desired program by setting the Bank and Number. 8 Press the [STORE] button to execute the Store operation. Making settings for use as a master keyboard It is a good idea to memorize the master keyboard function to the Master when using external multiple MIDI tone generators. Simply by selecting a different Master, you can change the programs in your connected external MIDI tone generators. Here's how to do it: 1 Press the [MASTER] button to enter the Master mode. 2 Select a Master to be edited. The Common Edit display appears. 5 Select “Zone Sw” then press the [ENTER] button. The Common Zone Switch display appears. 6 Set “Zone Switch” to “on.” The “Knob/Slider” parameter also will be set to on automatically. NOTE When using the Knobs/Sliders as the controller of the Knob Function/Slider Function, set the Knob/Slider to off. 7 Press the [EXIT] button twice to return to the Master Edit Select display. 8 Select “Zone 1” by using the cursor buttons then press the [ENTER] button. The Zone Edit Select display appears. 9 Make the settings of the Zone 1 in the respective Transmit, Note, Preset and Knb/ Sldr displays. Transmit display Note display Preset display Knob/Slider display 10 Press the [EXIT] button to return back to the Master Edit Select display, then set the other Zone using this same operation. 11 After setting all the desired parameters, press the [STORE] button to store your settings as a Master program. After completing these settings, assign a name to the Master in the “Name” parameter of the Master Common Edit display. Pressing the [EXIT] button returns to the original display. This section describes some useful functions in the Utility mode. Setting the default mode when turning the power on General . Power on Mode From the Voice, Performance, Multi and Master, the mode specified here is called up when turning the power on. Reversing the LCD status General . NOTE For details on how to apply the Insertion Effect, refer to page 24. Master Effect/Master EQ settings in the Voice mode Voice . Master FX, Master EQ Determines how much of the Effect and EQ processing is applied to the master output. S90 XS/S70 XS Owner’s Manual 45 Making Global System Settings (Utility Mode) Making Global System Settings (Utility Mode) Panel Lock Determines the buttons which are “locked” or become unavailable when pressing the [PANEL LOCK] button on the panel. When the check mark is removed from the check box, the corresponding button is available even if Panel Lock is turned on. Quick Setup Quick Set This lets you call up the parameter settings about the external connection in the Performance mode/Multi mode simply by selecting the one from the Preset. It is convenient since the parameters in various displays are set to the appropriate values simply by selecting the Quick Set number. The initial settings and description of each Quick Setup number is as follows: Quick Setup number Description 1 When recording performance data other than Arpeggio data to a DAW software on a computer. 2 When recording performance data including Arpeggio data to a DAW software on a computer. 3 When using the S90 XS/S70 XS as a stand-alone device, without connecting to a DAW software or other MIDI devices. 46 S90 XS/S70 XS Owner’s Manual Saving/Loading Data (File Mode) Saving/Loading Data (File Mode) e mode, press the [FILE] button.
