In order to access GPRS facilities you must first make sure that you have your SIM data enabled
and subscribe to a GPRS Service, with your airtime provider. Their telephone number will be on
your phone bill. The above settings are necessary to use GPRS services via Orange Networks
Step-by-step guide to configure GPRS on your GD87
1. Press the “Central Navigation Key” to enter the “Main Menu”, scroll to "Browser" and press “Select”.
2. Scroll to "Server List" and press “Select”.
3. Scroll to the first available location and press “Menu”, scroll to "Edit" and press “Select”.
4. Scroll to "Profile Name" and press “Edit.
Before entering any characters make sure that text mode 'ABC', 'Abc' or 'abc' is displayed at the bottom left of the
screen. If it is not visible, press the Left Soft Key repeatedly until 'abc' is displayed. To toggle between upper and lower
case characters press the *? key. Press the “C” key at the top right of the keypad to delete any unwanted characters,
or to go back if you make a mistake.
5. Type in Orange GPRS then press “Menu” key and “Select” OK. Press the “C” key at the top right of the
keypad to delete any unwanted characters, or if you make a mistake.
6. Scroll to "Home URL" and press “Edit”.
7. Type in http://orange.multimedia/ (lower case only)” press “Menu” and “Select” OK
8. Scroll to "Gateway IP" and press “Edit”.
9. Type in 192.168.071.035 and press “Menu” key and “Select” OK
10. Scroll to "Security" press “Select”.
11. Scroll to "Non Secure" press “Select”. (Some sites like Banks require “Secure” to be selected).
12. Scroll to "Bearer Type" press “Select”.
13. Scroll to "GPRS" press “Menu”, scroll to "Edit" and press “Select”.
14. Scroll to "Access Point Name" press “Edit”.
15. Type in orangewap (contract Users) OR paygwap (Pay as you go Users) (lower case only)” and
press “Menu” and “Select” OK.
16. Scroll to "User ID", press “Edit”.
17. Make sure that this field is completely blank. Press “Menu” and “Select” OK.
18. Scroll to "User Password" press “Edit”.
19. Make sure that this field is completely blank. Press “Menu” and “Select” OK.
20. Scroll to "Authentication" then press “Select”.
21. Scroll to "Normal" then press “Select”.
22. Press “C”(top right soft key), "GPRS" will now be highlighted, press “Menu”,
23. Scroll to "Set" and press “Select”.
24. Press “C”(top right soft key), again "orange GPRS " will now be highlighted, press “Menu”
25. Scroll to "Set" and press “Select”.
26. Press the Red “Power” key to return to the Idle screen.
