PICTURE Picture Mode Reset Backlight Contrast Brightness Color Tint Sharpness AutoView 0 Auto 0 0 0 0 •Press Cor c on the remote control or TV control panel to select the top menu, its respective items will appear below. •To use the items, press Bor b on the remote control or TV control panel to move up and down through them. •Press Cor c to adjust settings. •All menus close automatically if you do not make a selection within 60 seconds. •To close a menu instantly, press Yor O. Chapter 5: Setting up your TV Chapter 5: Setting up your TV Initial Setup When you first turn on or reset the TV, the Initial Setup window will appear. 1 In the Menu Language field, press C or c to select your preferred language. 2 Press B or b to select Time Zone and set your desired time zone with C or c and press T. 3 Next, the Location setting window will appear. For normal home use, press C or c to select Home and press T. 4 Next, ANT/CABLE In setup window will appear. Press C or c to select the input source (Cable or Antenna) for the ANT/CABLE input on the TV. 5 If you select Antenna, the Channel Tuning Mode setup window will appear. To tune only digital channels, select Digital. To tune digital channels preferentially over analog when entering channel number directly, select Auto. For normal tuning, select Standard. Press T to continue to Auto Tuning. 6 Press T to select Start Scan and continue with the Auto Tuning. You can stop the Initial Setup with O. However if you do not finish the entire Initial Setup process, the Initial Setup window will appear every time you turn on the TV. Quick Setup from the SETUP menu You can conveniently change various basic TV settings from the Quick Setup item located under the SETUP menu. 1 Press Y to open the SETUP menu. 2 Press B or b to select Quick Setup and press T. 3 A confirmation message will appear on the screen, press C or c to select Yes and press T. 4 Other procedures are the same as Initial Setup (- left-hand column). Selecting the menu language You can choose from three different languages (English, Francais and Espanol) for the on-screen display of menus and messages. 1 From the SETUP menu, highlight Menu Language. 2 Press C or c to select your preferred menu language. Chapter 5: Setting up your TV Configuring the antenna input source for the ANT/CABLE terminal 1 From the SETUP menu, highlight ANT/CABLE In. 2 Press C or c to select the input source (Antenna or Cable) for the ANT/CABLE input on the TV and press O. Programming channels into the TV’s channel memory When you press < or , on the remote control or TV control panel, your TV will stop only on the channels you programmed into the TV’s channel memory. Follow the steps below to program channels into the TV’s channel memory. Auto Tuning Your TV can automatically detect all active channels in your area and store them in its memory. After the channels are programmed automatically, you can manually add or erase individual channels in the channel memory. Note: • You must configure the ANT/CABLE input source before programming channels. • If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Cable, the automatic channel programming process erases channels that were previously programmed into the TV’s memory. • If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Antenna, the automatic channel programming process adds newly found channels to the existing set of programmed channels (and does NOT erase channels that were previously programmed into the TV’s memory.) To remove an Antenna source channel from the memory, you must set it to Skip. • To tune the TV to a channel not programmed in the channel memory, you must use the Channel Number buttons on the remote control. • Programming channels when the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Cable will take substantially longer than when the antenna input is configured for Antenna.
