MSL8096 Tape Library
The HP StorageWorks MSL8096 Tape Library weighs 46.6
kg (102.7 lb) without media and 68.8 kg (151.7 lb) with
media (96 cartridges). When moving the Tape Library, to
reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the Tape
Library: 1) observe local health and safety requirements

and guidelines for manual material handling, 2) always
remove al tapes to reduce the overal weight of the Library,
and 3) obtain adequate assistance to lift and stabilize the
Library during instal ation or removal.
CAUTION:
Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Keep
parts in electrostatic containers until needed. Ensure you
are properly grounded when touching static sensitive
components.
The front bezel is an optional customer self repair
part. HP customer self repair (CSR) programs allow
you to repair your StorageWorks product. If a CSR

Remove the magazines on one side by (1) inserting a
straightened paperclip or small metal pin into one of the
magazine release holes, while another person (2) grasps
all of the magazines and pul s them out about 2 cm (1
inch). Once the magazines are clear of the lock, pull each
magazine out individually.
Repeat for the magazines on the other side.
