Allows for separate amplification of individual channels. AP036 6 ft. (1.8 m) IDEAL FOR HOOKING UP A SACD OR DVDA PLAYER TO AN A/V RECEIVER. Footnotes (1) DVI and Component Video cables carry video signal only. You will need a separate audio connection such as Digital Coax, Digital Optical, 5.1 Digital Audio when available) or Analog Stereo Audio (left and right) to complete your hookup. (2) Component Video is the best analog video connection available. The video signal is carried on three individual paths to help ensure integrity of the signal for best picture reproduction. Use this cable when the digital HDMI or DVI connections are not available. (3) A limited number of A/V receivers includes HDMI inputs and outputs. If your receiver does not have this connection, use Component Video cable to carry video signal from the video source, such as a DVD player or Cable/Satellite Receiver, to your A/V receiver. You will also need a separate audio connection such as Digital Coax or Digital Optical. If your TV supports the HDMI connection, you can run HDMI cable straight to your TV. This will however prevent you from being able to use the A/V Receiver to switch between components. (4) The Analog Stereo Audio (left and right) does not carry digital surround sound. You must use either a Digital Coax or Digital Optical audio cable from your audio source (a DVD player or a Cable/Satellite Receiver for example) in order to be able to transfer digital surround sound audio signals to your A/V Receiver. (5) If your components support IEEE 1394 FireWire® connections, you can use this connection instead of HDMI. Both HDMI and FireWire® carry digital audio and video data, and you will not need a separate audio connection. (6) In case when your HDTV has DVI inputs (not HDMI) and your components have HDMI outputs (not DVI), you can still utilize your HDMI outputs on your components and connect to DVI inputs on your HDTV via HDMI-to-DVI Adapter. Note, DVI carries only the video signal, therefore if you want sound to come out directly from your HDTV, you will need to run a separate analog stereo audio cable from your components to your HDTV. DIGITAL COAX AUDIO Carries digital audio signal through oxygen- free copper center connector with two layers of shielding for improved performance. AP070 3 ft. (0.9 m) AP071 6 ft.
