ALWAYS OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING WARNING • Donot open (or modify in anyway)the unit or its AC adaptor. • Donot attempt torepair the unit,or replaceparts within it (except when this manual provides specific instructions directing you todo so).Refer all servicing to your retailer,the nearest Roland ServiceCenter, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the “Information” page. • Never install the unit in anyof the following locations. • Subjecttotemperature extremes (e.g., direct sunlightin an enclosed vehicle,near aheating duct, on top of heat-generating equipment); or are • Damp (e.g., baths,washrooms, on wet floors); or are • Exposed to steam or smoke; or are • Subjecttosalt exposure; or are • Humid; or are • Exposed to rain; or are • Dustyor sandy;or are • Subjecttohigh levels of vibration and shakiness. • Ifyou wish to use a stand when setting up the VP-7, please use the PDS-10 and BKT-S, which arerecom- mended byRoland (p. 10). • When using the unit with arack or stand recommended byRoland, the rack or stand must be carefully placed so it is level and sure toremain stable. Ifnot using arack or stand, you still need tomake surethatanylocation you choose for placing the unit provides alevel surface thatwill properlysupportthe unit,and keep it from wobbling. WARNING • Be suretouse only the ACadaptor supplied with the unit. Also,make surethe line voltage atthe installation matches the input voltage specified on the ACadaptor’s body. Other ACadaptors mayuse a differentpolarity, or be designed for adifferentvoltage,so their use could result in damage,malfunction, or electric shock. • Use only the attached power-supply cord. Also,the supplied power cordmust not be used with anyother device. • Do not excessively twist or bend the power cord,nor place heavyobjects on it. Doing so can damage the cord,producing severed elements and shortcircuits. Damaged cords are fireand shock hazards! • This unit,either alone or in combination with an amplifier and headphones or speakers,maybe capable of producing sound levels thatcould cause permanent hearing loss. Donot operatefor along period of time at a high volume level,or atalevel thatis uncomfortable. Ifyou experience anyhearing loss or ringing in the ears, you should immediately stop using the unit, and consult an audiologist. • Do not allowanyobjects (e.g., flammable material, coins, pins); or liquids of anykind (water,softdrinks,etc.) topenetratethe unit. CAUTION 101b • The unit and the ACadaptor should be located so their location or position does not interferewith their proper ventilation. 101c • This (VP-7) for use only with Roland stand PDS-10 and BKT-S. Use with other stands is capable of resulting in instabilitycausing possible injury. 101f • Even though you’ve observed all the precautions listed in the owner’smanual,the stand (PDS-10, BKT-S) could overturn depending on the wayyou perform. For this reason, you should address all issues concerning safety beforeusing this product. 102c • Alwaysgrasp only the plug on the ACadaptor cord when plugging into,or unplugging from, an outlet or this unit. 103b • Atregular intervals,you should unplug the ACadaptor and clean it byusing a drycloth towipe all dust and other accumulations awayfrom its prongs. Also,discon- nectthe power plug from the power outlet whenever the unit is to remain unused for an extended period of time. Anyaccumulation of dust between the power plug and the power outlet can result in poor insulation and lead tofire. 104 • Trytopreventcords and cables from becoming entangled. Also,all cords and cables should be placed so they areout of the reach of children....
