Windows Server 2008 R2 Licensing Downgrade Rights
Product numbers T8704A, T8709A, and T8722A ship with a Certificate of
Authenticity and Product Key for Windows Server 2008 R2. They also include
downgrade rights to Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP2.
Depending on the option ordered, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows
Server 2008 SP2 is already installed on your system. Reinstallation image DVDs for
other operating system versions are included in this kit, so you can upgrade or
downgrade the operating system as needed.
The location of your Product Key depends on which operating system is installed:
Windows Server 2008 R2: The Product Key is included on the Certificate of
Authenticity (COA) attached to the server. (See the Windows Server 2008
R2 on HP Integrity Servers Installation Guide for the exact location.)
Windows Server 2008 SP2: Send an email to ws08key@hp.com for more
information on how to obtain a Product Key. Include your Windows Server
2008 R2 Product Key and server serial number. You can install Windows
Server 2008 SP2 without a Product Key, and the installation will be good for
30 days. But you must enter a valid Product Key before the 30 days are up.
