Pressure Testing Heater Gas Connections 1. Open equipment shutoff valve (see Figure 13). 2. Open main gas valve located on or near gas meter. 3. Make sure control knob of heater is in the OFF position. 4. Check all joints from equipment shutoff valve to control valve (see Figure 14). Apply mixture of liquid soap and water to gas joints. Bubbles forming show a leak. 5. Correct all leaks at once. 6. Light heater (see Operating Heater, pages ll through 13). Check the rest of the internal joints for

7. Keep control knob pressed in for 30 seconds after lighting pilot. After 30 seconds, release control knob. Note: If pilot goes out, repeat steps 3 through 7. This fireplace has a safety interlock system. Wait one (1) minute before lighting pilot again. 8. Turn control knob counterclockwise to desired heating level. The main burner should light. This makes the front of fireplace flush with wall. An optional trim kit accessory is available (see Accessories, page 30). Trim will extend past sides of fireplace approximately 1/2 inch.
